Life itself can affect our confidence and means that we can feel anxious, stressed or confused within our lives. Counselling gives the opportunity and space to work through issues that are holding us back.
Being self-aware and having the capability to think and feel emotions with clarity and understanding is part and parcel of being human. Sometimes life itself gets in the way of this.
My core model is person-centred approach where respect, honesty and empathy from myself are essential to my practice. I work in a non-judgmental way that sees the client as the expert on his or her own life, but allows us to work through issues together to move forward towards a positive goal.
I am also trained in solution focus therapy where the focus is on solution building, looking at what is working and building upon this. It acknowledges issues and the causes of these in a person’s life, while the main work is exploring the resources around us and our future hopes.
My additional training allows me to draw on other models and theories enabling me to tailor my work the suit the individual’s needs.
What to expect from counselling?
I aim to give you a safe, relaxing, quiet space for you to explore issues within your life. A place where you are not being judged and are able to use our relationship to find the right path for you.
Exploring your experiences together to help you gain insight and understanding within your life, helping you to move forward towards your goal.
It does not matter if you feel unsure about what you want to work on or change as we can discuss this and decide on this together.
